Aircraft Mechanical Fitter

Our client has an opportunity for an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter to join them on a contract basis until September 2025. You will be responsible for assisting in the movement, Line and Base Maintenance of the UK MFTS (RW) H135/H145 fleet.

Role: Aircraft Mechanical Fitter

Location: Shawbury, Shropshire

Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday

Clearance: BPSS required to start. SC to follow

Hourly Rate: negotiable via Umbrella, inside IR35

What you'll be doing:

1. Provide engineering operational support to Flight Operations.
2. Accomplishment of Maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by nominated Shift Supervisor or Certifying Engineer.
3. Work to high standards to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
4. Completion of maintenance, including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with written instructions laid down by OEM.
5. Conduct off-aircraft mechanical, power plant, component and composite technical work in workshops as required.
6. Assist in day to day running of the aircraft Hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL

1. Apprenticeship within Aircraft Maintenance
2. Experience of Base Maintenance
3. Experience of Flight Operations and Line Maintenance
4. Thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems.
5. Knowledge of specialised test equipment relating to engine and airframe systems.
6. Up to date knowledge of Flight/Airport Operations, Aircraft Line Maintenance, and Aircraft Base Maintenance.

DESIRABLE

1. Knowledge of UK Military Aviation and UK MFTS.
2. Knowledge of CAA Part 145 and Part M regulations.
