An established industry player is seeking an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves providing engineering support for the UK MFTS H135/H145 fleet, ensuring high standards of maintenance and safety. You'll conduct inspections, repairs, and technical work on aircraft systems while assisting in the day-to-day operations of the hangar. Our client has an opportunity for an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter to join them on a contract basis until April 2026. You will be responsible for assisting in the movement, Line and Base Maintenance of the UK MFTS (RW) H135/H145 fleet.
Role: Aircraft Mechanical Fitter
Location: RAF Valley Wales
Hourly Rate: £27.07 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35 + Shift Allowance
Clearance: BPSS required to start. Full SC to follow
Hours: average 40 hours per week, 2-week rotational shift pattern:
Week 1 - Monday to Friday Winter 10.00 to 18:30 (Summer 11:00 to 19:30)
Week 2 - Monday to Friday 07:00 to 15:30
What you'll be doing:
Provide engineering operational support to Flight Operations.
Accomplishment of Maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by nominated Shift Supervisor or Certifying Engineer.
Work to high standards to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
Completion of maintenance, including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with written instructions laid down by OEM.
Conduct off-aircraft mechanical, power plant, component and composite technical work in workshops as required.
Also required to assist in day to day running of the aircraft Hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL
Must have thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems.
Knowledge of specialised test equipment relating to engine and airframe systems.
Apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or related discipline.
Experience of Base Maintenance.
Experience of Flight Operations and Line Maintenance.
Must have up to date knowledge of:
Flight/Airport Operations
Aircraft Line Maintenance
Aircraft Base Maintenance.
DESIRABLE
Knowledge of UK Military Aviation and UK MFTS.
Knowledge of CAA Part 145 and Part M regulations.
