What You'll Do

What the role is about: The AI Strategist (AS) role will be primarily focused on defining and championing advanced AI initiatives within our customer base. With a diverse background spanning various industries, the incumbent will spearhead customer-driven application R&D efforts, collaborating closely with engineering and product teams to bridge the gap between customer requirements and technical capabilities. This includes the delivery of sophisticated AI applications, such as large language models.

What impact this role has: The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering on the industry strategies, providing thought leadership, and driving the evangelism of Teradata's value proposition, AI strategy, and use cases. They will collaborate with Sales Leaders, AI Industry Specialists, Industry Strategists, and partners to empower the GTM team, ensuring effective execution of our Analytics & Industry strategy and alignment with customer needs and market trends.

Who You'll Work With

An outline of the team: You will work with a dynamic team of Sales Leaders, AI Industry Specialists, Industry Strategists, Data Scientists, and partners. The role and the team play a crucial part in driving Teradata's AI strategy and ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends.

Who the position reports to: This position reports to the Head of AI Strategy.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

Non-negotiable qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in developing AI solutions and software applications.
3. A proven ability to establish credibility with advanced AI leaders.
4. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
5. Experience with AI and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.

What You'll Bring

Preferred qualifications:

1. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
2. Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
3. Understanding of data privacy and security considerations in AI applications.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
5. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Knowledge of industry-specific challenges and opportunities in telecommunications, retail, government, and manufacturing is a plus.
