As an AI Consultant, you will guide Convatec in leveraging Data science led Artificial Intelligence (AI) across their business units. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs, design tailored AI solutions, and support implementation to deliver business value (increase in process productivity, cost savings, increase in revenue generation, patient satisfaction etc.). You will lead/assist in the transformation of our functioning by creating suitable operational frameworks, collaborating with stakeholders to identify use cases and success metrics, and getting executive buy-in. You will also advise on technology selection, assist in change adoption strategies, and inform on breadth of AI/Automation applicability.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify potential use cases, define success metrics and necessary datasets to align AI/Automation implementation closely with real-world needs and business impact.
• Work with Security, Compliance and EA office on AI Ethics definition and alignment.
• Work with cross-functional teams in identifying and prioritizing key areas where AI solutions can drive significant business benefit.
• Assist in prioritizing quick win initiatives based on potential quick technology adoption vs high business value.
• Lead teams, where applicable, to implement prepared AI use cases.
• Actively code and deliver AI use cases where applicable.
• Optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and efficiency, leveraging cloud-based resources and distributed computing frameworks.
• Assist in development of AI operational frameworks taking into account Convatec’s needs, workforce skills and competence.
• Present findings to CELT team to showcase impact of the work delivered.
• Create delivery mechanisms for AI use cases whilst also assisting in creation of a Data Science team and Centre of Excellence.
• Assist in technology implementation and defining adoption strategies/pathways around the business to aid in process change.
• Assist in preparation of relevant project stage gate documentation.
• Participate in hiring process of relevant AI experts.
• Guide peers via conducting code reviews, sprint planning, technical assessment of their analysis.

Technical Expertise:

• Four plus years of experience in applying AI to practical, comprehensive technology solutions and AI Consultancy.
• Knowledge of basic algorithms, object-oriented and functional design principles, and best-practice patterns.
• Experience in REST API development, NoSQL database design, and RDBMS design and optimizations.
• Experience in implementing GenAI, NLP, computer vision, or other AI frameworks/technologies.

Tools & Technology:

• LLMs and implementing RAG or different prompt strategies.
• Azure Open AI, Off the shelf Platform native AI tools and Models.
• Knowledge of ML pipeline orchestration tools.
• Experienced in Python; ideally working knowledge of various supporting packages.
• Strong experience in Data engineering and aligned Hyperscale Platforms e.g. Databricks, Synapse, FiveTran etc.

Soft Skills Expertise:

• Advise IT Leadership, C-suite executives and business leaders on a broad range of technology, strategy, and policy issues associated with AI.
• Experienced in working within healthcare sector and working knowledge of regulatory frameworks.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to lead teams, initiatives, work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience in managing tactical project direction and delegate as necessary.
