Commercial & Agricultural Vehicle Technician

Location: Petworth, West Sussex
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum OTE (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch) + occasional weekend work

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial & Agricultural Vehicle Technician to join a well-established and reputable automotive repairing business. This role is ideal for a skilled vehicle technician who enjoys working with a variety of vehicles, including pickup trucks, Mercedes Unimogs & Atego lorries, as well as a full range of complementary agricultural products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Carry out servicing and repairs on a diverse range of vehicles.
2. Assist the Service Manager in daily operations, including service bookings and customer interactions.
3. Liaise with the parts department to ensure efficient workflow.
4. Provide technical support to team members and customers.
5. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, maintaining health & safety compliance.

Key Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, ideally within commercial and/or agricultural sectors.
2. Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic expertise.
3. Experience using diagnostic software and tools.
4. Knowledge of modern engine emission systems and canbus systems.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and motivate colleagues.
6. Strong customer service and communication skills.
7. Organised, detail-oriented, and proficient with IT systems.
8. Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 licence beneficial but not essential).

Working Hours & Overtime:

1. Monday - Friday: 8am-5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break).
2. Some weekend work required.
3. Overtime available at competitive rates:
   Mon-Sat: Time and a half.
   Sunday: Double time.
   Bank Holidays: Double time + a day in lieu.
