Team Manager - Adult Social Care
£40 an hour

The suitable candidate will need to be available to work on a hybrid basis and support through the CQC assurance period. They will also need to have previous experience of managing team leaders/supervisors of social workers.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide team manager support across social work teams, advice, etc. to social workers and social care assessors carrying out Care Act assessments, planning, safeguarding enquiries, mental capacity Act assessments, and other related activity with adults with care and support across the above teams in line with statutory duties.
  • Provide effective leadership across and within the service, taking responsibility, being accountable, and motivating staff within the team.
  • Provide line management of social work unit managers and others if needed, carrying out supervision and appraisals, which may include group supervisions.
  • Ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the team and prioritization of tasks/referrals, overseeing the activity of social work unit managers, monitoring duty workers, providing guidance and advice, managing waiting lists, and demand.
  • Ensure that performance management systems are used effectively in the day-to-day operations of the team, including staffing and service data/KPIs and quality assurance activity.
  • Lead through change and ensure high quality, safe, Care Act compliant social work practice.
  • Teams could include learning disability, physical disability, older people, and hospital social work, etc.
