This role within the Advisory, Quality Risk Management (AQRM) team involves working with existing members of the team to provide quality and risk management support to teams within our Deals Advisory & Consulting (DAC) practice.

You will interact with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of seniority in delivering projects and to help teams within DAC to manage their legal, technical, regulatory and risk management responsibilities whilst promoting the quality agenda of the firm.

The role will suit a motivated and driven individual who has technical and practical experience within professional or legal services, ideally within a transactions or consulting environment, and is now ready for their next challenge.

A look into the role

As a Manager within the AQRM team, you will work with senior members of AQRM to:

  1. Provide risk management and quality support to the DAC teams, as well as other advisory teams where required.
  2. Review drafts of engagement contracts and other documents to support teams in negotiating the final contract with the client, liaising with other members of AQRM and Legal as appropriate.
  3. Support, educate and coach client facing teams and individuals to enhance their risk awareness and to enable them to manage risks appropriately.
  4. Develop and maintain training materials as well as presenting at relevant training sessions.
  5. Ensure required controls are understood and implemented by client-facing teams.
  6. Help to identify and manage emerging risks.
  7. Contribute ideas and support colleagues to ensure that the AQRM and client-facing teams function as effectively as possible.
  8. Work collaboratively with the Firm’s other central support teams, such as Legal and Ethics, to help our client facing teams overcome challenges and to improve our policies and processes.
  9. Develop guidance materials and resources including template documentation.
  10. Support the service line file review and monitoring procedures.
Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as an AQRM Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is either:

  1. A professional qualification (ACA, ACCA) together with experience of working in an advisory business unit of a professional services firm; or
  2. A legal/risk management background with experience of advising on contracts and developing policies.

It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  1. Project management experience.
  2. Experience of working in, or advising teams involved in transactions, valuations or business consulting.
  3. Experience of drafting and/or reviewing contractual terms.
  4. A positive, proactive attitude and be someone who takes pride in delivering a high-quality output.
  5. Commercial awareness and recognition of the need to balance risk with reward.
  6. Good attention to detail, whilst retaining an ability to see the bigger picture, so that you are able to find innovative solutions to novel situations.
  7. An awareness of the ethical principles that apply to professional services firms, especially those that apply to audit firms.
  8. An ability to communicate effectively with a flexible and agile approach.
  9. An interest in how we can develop digital solutions to help us do things to improve the way we work.
  10. A resilient individual who enjoys being part of a diverse team.
