Job description

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an Advanced Social Work Practitioner within the Corporate Parenting Team to work full time based in Hillingdon.
The salary for this permanent Advanced Social Work Practitioner job is up to £54,903 per annum.


Main duties:

  • Act as practice educator to social work students and/or newly qualified social workers.
  • Provide additional coaching support to social care staff as identified by their team managers as part of professional development.
  • Undertake joint visits and co-work complex cases with less experienced members of staff.
  • Provide on-the-spot case discussions and guidance with team colleagues and ensure that joint responsibility is taken by themselves and social workers of recording reflections and actions in order for Team Managers to maintain oversight of children’s needs, decisions, and development needs of social care staff.
  • Provide regular reflective group supervision/case discussions linked with lessons from Audits/Serious Case Reviews/needs as identified by practitioners and managers.
  • Work alongside Team Managers to provide induction of new staff members.
  • Provide additional support to students and newly qualified social workers.
  • Disseminate across the team and AP network relevant learning, research and training materials.
  • Act as practice lead for advice/consultation in areas of expertise.
  • Provide support to local education providers.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of social work students.
  • Involve in research projects.
  • Ensure that the performance of the team and statutory duties are met.
  • May be required to line manage unqualified social work staff.

Requirements of this role:

  • Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
  • Experience of community and/or group work.
  • Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, agencies, and relevant legislation.
