Overview

This individual provides direct patient care as the Center's Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care. Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Medical Center credentialing committee. Follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff.

Responsibilities

Beebe Healthcare is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide direct patient care in our Walk-In Clinic. You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages (6 months to geriatric) while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

  • Perform clinical assessments, evaluations, and treatments for patients across the lifespan.
  • Diagnose and manage medical and surgical conditions in an urgent care setting.
  • Interpret and analyze diagnostic tests, including EKGs, X-rays, and lab results.
  • Perform minor procedures, including:
    • Foreign body removal
    • Incision and drainage of abscesses
    • Nosebleed management, including device placement
    • Laceration repair, including suturing, wound adhesive, and skin closure techniques
    • Orthopedic injury management, including splinting, fracture care, and X-ray interpretation
  • Provide preventative care, risk assessments, coaching, and patient counseling.
  • Handle emergency and unexpected situations with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with clinical protocols.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) program
  • Active licensure in Delaware or ability to obtain upon job offer
  • Current BLS certification (per American Heart Association guidelines)

Preferred:

  • Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or walk-in clinic settings
  • Strong procedural competency in outpatient care

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced urgent care setting
  • Strong team collaboration and patient-centered approach
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for emergent situations
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) documentation

Credentials

  • Active PA or NP Licensure
  • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Advanced Practice Nursing
  • Current Basic Life Saving (BLS) Certification.
