Role: Advanced Physiotherapist - Paediatric Neuro
Site: The Portland Hospital, London
Permanent: 37.5 hrs per week

We're looking for an Advanced Physiotherapist to join The Portland Hospital, currently rated "Good" by the CQC.

The Portland Hospital is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare of women and children. As the only fully private maternity hospital in the UK, delivering over 1,600 babies a year, we place great importance on providing safe and high quality care for expectant mothers.

As an Advanced Paediatric Neuro Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for working in the Paediatric Neuro Rehabilitation ward, working alongside the Neurorehabilitation Lead. This role will include support for the SDR service and may require cover for other members of the Physiotherapy team, including the weekend and on-call service.

You will have a full clinical caseload and work alongside other Paediatric Physiotherapists, and the MDT while supporting the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist and Head of Therapies with service development initiatives.

What you'll bring:

  • Responsible for Neurorehabilitation caseload including: admission assessments, goal-setting and treatment planning, Equipment provision, orthotics and discharge planning.
  • Provide clinical support across other areas of the hospital, including PICU, orthopaedic surgery, and cardio-thoracic surgery.
  • Use expert clinical reasoning to provide specialist intervention, support, and advice to patients.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date and concise treatment records detailing the individual patient's treatment plan and progress.
  • Ensure that physiotherapy sessions are commenced on time and patients are charged appropriately for their treatment.
  • Work flexibly to the needs of the service and participate in the out of hours weekend and standby service as required.

Skills and experience:

  • Be registered with the HCPC
  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Highly specialist experience in Paediatric Neurology and rehabilitation.
  • Experience working within in-patient and out-patient settings within an acute hospital
  • Experience working across other disciplines within physiotherapy e.g rotations
