An established industry player is seeking a motivated individual to join their Estates department. This role involves mechanical maintenance work within NHS properties, focusing on heating, ventilation, and medical gas systems. The successful candidate will work under the Mechanical Team Leader and will be provided with specific training, making it an excellent opportunity for those with a mechanical fitting or vehicle maintenance background. Flexibility in working hours is essential, and the role promises a rewarding experience in a supportive team environment dedicated to patient and staff safety.
The Estates department at Royal Lancaster Infirmary is a group of highly skilled electrical and mechanical engineers, creative building craft persons, and dedicated support staff.
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic person to join us.
You should be experienced, time served and suitably qualified in mechanical fitting or vehicle mechanical maintenance and fault finding.
A mechanical fitting/manufacturing/plumbing background, particularly within healthcare, would be advantageous but not essential - as specific training will be provided. Vehicle mechanics/technicians have also been found to excel in this role - as the principles are very similar.
This is a highly rewarding role. Working under the Mechanical Team Leader, the successful candidate will embark on a challenging adventure, safely, efficiently, and with patient and staff safety at the heart of their focus.
Working as part of a team, and individually, you will be required to carry out mechanical maintenance work within acute and community NHS properties. This will be on heating and pressure systems, ventilation, air conditioning, steam production, medical gases, and other healthcare related mechanical services.
The successful candidate must be able to self-motivate, work relatively unsupervised, and be a good communicator on all levels. Flexible working will be required where you will assist other trades and undertake other tasks to maintain the building services.
This post is based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Lancaster.
