Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Biomedical Scientist who is professional, reliable, innovative and flexible to join our friendly and hardworking team in our Histopathology department at Ipswich Hospital as an Advanced Biomedical Scientist.
In this role you will be involved in the co-ordination and supervision of the daily operations within the service and the completion of complex and routine Histopathology investigations.
The department handles approximately 26,000 requests per annum (including non-gynae cytology). The laboratory has full UKAS accreditation, and full training status granted by IBMS.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you will be involved in the day to day supervision and delivery of the Histopathology service, and as such you will be a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.
In this role you will use your significant experience of working within a Histology laboratory, knowledge and experience of the requirements for accreditation, and will exhibit a commitment to the development of the discipline.
You will have day to day management of the service, managing and coordinating day to day activities of the team. You will process specialist investigations and be responsible for standard and quality of results.
