Specialism/Team: Adults Acute

Job Type & Hours: Locum ongoing contract, either full time or part time

Pay Rate: £25 per hour (assignment rate)

Main duties of the Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of adults presenting with communication (e.g., dysarthria, aphasia) and swallowing disorders (dysphagia)
  • Use appropriate diagnostic tools, standardized tests, and observational methods
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for patients, considering their medical conditions and goals

Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:

  • Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration
  • Recent UK/NHS post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • At least 2 years’ clinical experience, with at least a year of adult acute experience
  • Must be dysphagia trained, signed off competencies and able to see patients independently
  • Must have established knowledge of assessment and therapeutic interventions for patients with swallowing and communication difficulties
