Qualifications

Job description

ADULT CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST IN EARLY INTERVENTION IN PSYCHOSIS (EIP)
NELFT North East London Foundation Trust

Location: 137-145 Church Road, Harold Wood, Romford, RM3 0SH

Contract: Substantive

Hours: 5 PAs, Frequency 1:50; Category A - 3% on call supplement (Pro-rata)

  • CCT or equivalent
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST
Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

You will be expected to:

  • Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to people with first onset psychosis and those potentially at high risk of developing psychotic disorders, across Havering
  • Provide senior medical support to the team, and direct input on clinical cases
  • Provide guidance and supervision to the team
  • Work directly with young adult people (and their families), and liaise as appropriate with other external mental health providers, and acute hospitals
  • Participate in the on-call rota frequency is currently 1:50, with a 3% of basic salary, Category A on-call supplement (pro-rata)
  • Support their peers and team manager and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative and supervise junior colleagues
  • Have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies
  • Play a key role in developing strong links with the services, including Neighbourhood Teams, Primary Care Networks and any relevant third sector resource within Havering
  • Develop systems to reach out to hard reach communities to identify people who need EIP and EDP Service input
  • Develop further links already established with the local acute trusts A&E departments and inpatient wards, in order to continually improve our services

Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 a year per annum pro rata
