Join Our Team as an Adult Community Learning Tutor!

Location: Adult Community Learning Blaenau Gwent

Salary: LEC1 £34,341 FTE (£17.79 per hour) + 50%

Hours: Sessional Contract

About The Role

As an Adult Community Learning Tutor, you’ll be part of a dedicated team delivering accredited and non-accredited courses to adult learners. Whether teaching in-person, remotely, or through blended learning, you'll help individuals develop new skills, gain qualifications, and improve their confidence.

What You’ll Be Doing

  1. Planning and delivering engaging learning sessions that meet students’ needs
  2. Providing support and guidance to help learners achieve their goals
  3. Using a variety of teaching methods to create an inclusive learning environment
  4. Ensuring lessons align with awarding body requirements
  5. Maintaining accurate student records and tracking progress
  6. Supporting learners with e-portfolios and online learning tools
  7. Contributing to special events and exhibitions to showcase learner achievements
  8. Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities

What We’re Looking For
  1. Post-16 teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  2. Subject expertise relevant to the courses being delivered
  3. Experience planning and delivering training to adults
  4. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office & Outlook
  5. A passion for adult education and helping people succeed
  6. Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends
  7. Access to own transport (preferred for outreach teaching)
