Job description

Adult’s Team Manager
Team: Neighbourhood
Location: Manchester
Rate: £40

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Social Worker to manage social care activity within integrated neighbourhood teams in North Manchester Locality.

The position being advertised is for a Social Work Team Manager for Harpurhey Integrated Neighbourhood Team. We adopt a neighbourhood approach to care as we understand that people require care as close to home as possible. This means that social care teams are based within neighbourhoods and are co-located and integrated with health services, including district nursing.

Being co-located means care can be planned and delivered in a seamless way in their local community with teams taking a joint approach around individuals.

Each INT serves a population of between 30,000-50,000 people – so typically works across two to four council ward areas. It has a leadership team made up of a neighbourhood lead, social care lead, nurse lead, health development coordinator and GP lead (usually a GP from a local practice). Teams also work with other partners in their neighbourhood – from Manchester City Council’s neighbourhood teams, local housing associations, police, mental health services and voluntary organisations. They focus their work around the needs of the individual and consider all the other aspects that might impact on health and well-being.

In the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, we are passionate about supporting one another and delivering excellent services to our residents.

We are looking forward to welcoming a Team Manager who shares these passions and who values diversity and integration. It is essential for you to have some experience of supervision of staff/students.

This includes the ability to lead reflective discussions, identify areas for improvement and support staff and team development, develop ASYE staff.

  1. You should be someone with significant experience of working with adults with a range of needs in a strengths-based way.
  2. You should have a positive approach to partnership working and experience of achieving positive outcomes for citizens and communities.
  3. You should be used to working in a fast-paced and pressurised social care setting and be able to manage in this environment, including managing competing priorities, achieving practice excellence and sustaining positive team morale.

The role requires organizational skills, resilience, autonomy, and accountability. Successful candidates will possess in-depth knowledge and application of relevant legislation and commitment to Our Behaviours.
