Job description

Admissions Officer

Full time (35 hrs/wk), Fixed term for 12 months

Split place of work between Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and Home

Salary £25,500 FTE pa plus benefits

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our busy and fast-paced Admissions and Enquiries team. As an Admissions Officer, you will assist with all aspects of the recruitment of students onto UCEM’s programmes, helping to guide their decisions and realise their academic ambitions. You will offer information and advice, process applications and collaboratively work towards institutional targets for the recruitment of students. Working in a busy and lively team, you will provide integral support for the applicants’ journey, from initial enquiry through to registration.

Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  1. Advise, counsel, and provide relevant information to applicants to enable them to make an informed decision about their programme
  2. Support applicants by processing their applications efficiently, ensuring applicant data is recorded accurately in SITS (our student records database)
  3. Promptly respond to enquiries from prospective students, their parents, and employers in a timely, professional and friendly manner
  4. Track student applicants through the admissions process and carry out pro-active follow-ups to ensure maximum conversion rates

Our main requirements:

  1. GCSE Maths and English Language Grade C or 4 or above
  2. Experience in a similar role
  3. Office and administration work, relating to providing good customer service
  4. Using a database as part of your job role
  5. Strong communication and listening skills with a commitment to providing excellent customer service
