An established industry player in healthcare is seeking an Administration Officer to enhance the Palliative Care service. The Administration Officer will play an integral part in the overall development of an effective Palliative Care service and will provide direct support to the nursing team on the Palliative Care Unit in the provision of a comprehensive administration service.
The role will maintain the Patient Administration System; maintain the ward and record patient outcomes. In addition, the role will also support the MDT Coordinator and Outpatient Coordinator and will do so on a rotational basis in conjunction with the other Administration Officer.
Courteously and respectfully manage patients, relatives and carers who may exhibit stress and anxiety, reporting to the Sister/Nurse in Charge any issues which may be unsafe, unclear or cause concern.
Respond to telephone and face-to-face enquiries from staff, patients, relatives and carers in a professional and pleasant manner, providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate.
To be responsible for the quality of data recorded. The data should be accurate and recorded in a timely manner, kept up to date and appropriately stored. Assist with patient flow where appropriate and under the advice of the nurse in charge.
Maintain confidentiality and information security at all times in accordance with department, trust and national policies/guidelines, ensuring any cases of non-compliance are reported using the appropriate Trust process.
