Position Overview

Opus People Solutions on behalf of Shropshire County Council are seeking an organized Administration Assistant to support our SEND team. This role involves managing sensitive data and ensuring that our administrative processes align with best practices and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide administrative support to the SEND team, including managing schedules and appointments.
  2. Maintain accurate and confidential records of sensitive student information.
  3. Assist in the preparation and distribution of documents related to SEND services.
  4. Respond to inquiries from parents, staff, and external agencies regarding SEND matters.
  5. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and school policies.
  6. Perform general office tasks, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.

What we are looking for:
  1. Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational or SEND setting.
  2. Understanding of SEND legislation and data protection requirements.
  3. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data management systems.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  7. A basic DBS check will be required for this position.
