We are currently looking for an Admin Assistant to work with us on a full-time basis in Manchester, reporting into the Cyber Underwriting Manager.

This is an entry level role and would be suitable for a school leaver or graduate, or an individual looking for a career change into the insurance industry.

You will take personal ownership of end-to-end handling of system processes including that of any e-trade platform used in support of the cyber account.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and process own work so that the relevant part of the team workload is handled efficiently and effectively.
  2. Prepare documentation as may be required and calculate premium adjustments and debits by reference to rating and underwriting schedules within the policies, so that work is completed efficiently.
  3. Prepare renewal statistics including premium/claims experience in detail where requested by the Underwriters.
  4. Make a positive input into the team’s effectiveness, suggesting ways in which work systems and processes can be altered and improved.
  5. Respond to and take ownership of customer enquiries and allocated mail.
  6. Work flexibly within a team carrying out a wide range of tasks, assisting colleagues wherever pressure is greatest, in a manner that enables the Company to ensure that a high level of customer service is delivered.
  7. Work with other members of the team so that personal competency and ability to achieve objectives is continuously improved.
  8. Ensure open communication and collaboration across all lines of business and the sales and development function.
  9. Build and maintain strong internal relationships with other team members, the Claims Department, the Sales and Development Team, the Syndicate and the Directors.
  10. Build and maintain strong external relationships with a range of contacts within the allocated intermediaries and customers.
  11. Undertake other duties as directed within the level of the job function.
  12. Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.
  13. Understand all appropriate lines of escalation and the responsibilities of the Product Conduct Risk Strategy Group (PCRSG), Underwriting & Claims Sub Committee (UCSC), ExCo and Board for Conduct Risk.

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Basic level of technical/product knowledge, a genuine curiosity about cyber and a desire to develop current knowledge.
  2. Ability to understand established systems and processes.
  3. Ability to prioritise own work and manage workloads.
