Job description

East Lindsey District Council are looking for an Admin Assistant to assist the Markets Team deliver its markets.

Covering Louth, Horncastle and Spilsby Markets, you will help deliver a high performing and fit for purpose markets service.

You will provide operational support in many ways such as, taking bookings and payments from traders via phone and email, update relevant Excel spreadsheets, log occupancy figures, provide up to date market plans to Stall Erectors prior to markets, process trader applications and deal with any enquiries relating to the markets.

This role will be mainly office/home based, and in the absence of the Market Officer, you may be required to occasionally attend the outdoor markets to liaise with Market Traders, conduct basic health and safety checks and support the day to day running of the market.

You will also be part of a small team who will implement a new, online booking and payments platform, supporting traders throughout the process.

What will I need?
  • Full driving licence
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Enthusiastic and flexible
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good telephone manner
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Apply confidentiality to all information handled
  • Strong computer skills, able to learn and manage new online systems
  • Saturday working required occasionally
Working days are:

Monday – Friday – 9am-5pm

Occasional Saturday working
