Job description

Our client HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is an agency of the Ministry of Justice. HMCTS provides administrative support for the legal system across England and Wales, ensuring justice works for everyone.

Our justice system defends our fundamental rights and freedoms. It is a cornerstone of our modern society, and it must serve all those who call on it, when they call on it. From some of the most vulnerable people in our society, to families in crisis, claimants, and commercial businesses - HMCTS has a responsibility to administer a justice system that is accessible to everyone and operates efficiently.

Our public sector client is looking for a temporary employee to join their team as an admin officer. This is initially a temporary role until July 2025. There may be chance of an extension, but this will be down to business need. This is a full-time role, Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week. Usual working hours will be 9-5. The pay rate for this role will start at £12.36ph and increase to £12.53ph on week 13.

Due to the nature of the work, this role is fully office based. The office is located in Gloucester town centre.

Your day-to-day duties will include:
  1. Preparing papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings, and meetings.
  2. Creating and updating records on in-house computer system and data input.
  3. Answering telephone calls and inbox management.
  4. Post opening and dispatch.
  5. Standard letters and correspondence, minutes, notes, reports, submissions etc, according to guidelines and instructions.
  6. Ensuring compliance and administration documentation meet quality standards.

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate for the role will have 12-18 months of admin experience within a workplace.
