Role Information

Do you have a passion to support people? We are looking for an experienced additional learning support tutor who can support learners with additional learning needs. Knowledge and experience of working with adults with SEND needs is essential. This role will be working in our Flexible Learning division, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours are negotiable.

Duties
  • Provide structured support using a range of effective interventions to support learners needs as required
  • Provide positive reinforcements, praise and emotional support to learners
  • Advise and support Tutors with making necessary adjustments for Learners with learning support needs
  • Ensure documentation and contact logs are updated accurately and timely
  • Work as part of the team to ensure that the wellbeing and personal development of the Learner enhances their learning opportunities and life skills.
  • Agree learning support aims and interventions with the learner and set these out in the Learning Support Plan
  • Act in accordance with the Learning Curve’s expectations as set out in the Staff Code of Conduct and contract of employment.
  • Promote equal opportunities and recognition of diversity throughout the company
  • Comply with the Safeguarding, Prevent and Health and Safety Policies and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks at all times
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice and guidance as part of your everyday role
  • Undertake mandatory training and staff development/CPD training as required by the nature of this post and the range of duties described within this job description.
  • Use I.T as designated appropriate to the nature of the role.
  • Undertake such other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may reasonably be required.
  • Be flexible for the needs of the learners and the business to ensure support is completed.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • Experience of working in SEN role previously
  • L3 SEN
  • Teaching qualification at L3 or above
  • Ability to communicate with confidence, authority, clarity and persuasiveness, both orally and in writing, to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Passion to support people to succeed.
  • Ensure that initiatives and team are seen through to completion, supporting colleagues where necessary and displaying resourcefulness and determination in the face of obstacles and setbacks.
  • Maths and English qualifications at a minimum of L2.
