Activities Lead – Borehamwood, Hertfordshire

Location: Meadowhill Care Home, Castleford Close, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, WD6 4AL

Salary: £14.00 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (including alternate weekends)

Be part of an exciting new beginning at Meadowhill Care Home, our state-of-the-art luxury care home, opening in April 2025. As our Activities Lead, you’ll be at the heart of building a vibrant, engaging and inclusive environment for our residents.

Nestled in the heart of Borehamwood, Meadowhill Care Home combines modern design with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Boasting 75 private rooms and luxurious communal spaces, Meadowhill is tailored to meet the unique needs of residents in a safe and peaceful environment.

As the Activities Lead, you will design and implement a varied programme of events, activities and social opportunities tailored to our residents’ interests, abilities and preferences. You’ll play a key role in fostering a sense of community, ensuring residents live fulfilled and meaningful lives.

About the role:

  • Develop and coordinate a diverse activities schedule, including social, physical and cognitive activities
  • Engage with residents to understand their interests and create activities that reflect their individuality
  • Organise events such as arts and crafts, fitness sessions, musical performances and outings
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure activities align with residents’ care plans
  • Lead and inspire a small team of activity coordinators
  • Maintain budgets and ensure activities comply with health and safety standards

About you:

  • Previous experience working in the care sector
  • A creative and enthusiastic personality with experience in planning and leading activities, ideally in a care or community setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with residents of all backgrounds
  • Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail
  • A passion for making a positive impact and making a difference
