Acoustic Consultant (Consultant-Associate)

Role Overview
A skilled Acoustic Consultant is sought at the Consultant to Associate level to join the dynamic team. The role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, with options to be based from the London, Manchester, Leeds, or Leicester offices. The successful candidate will focus primarily on the environmental side of acoustics, engaging with a variety of interesting and complex projects. The candidate will be responsible for independently carrying out surveys, producing detailed reports, and managing client relationships. Additionally, the role will involve contributing to business development efforts, ensuring the continued success and growth of the acoustics division.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting acoustic surveys and assessments for environmental projects
  2. Preparing technical reports based on survey findings
  3. Managing multiple projects and ensuring timely delivery of services
  4. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients
  5. Contributing to business development and expanding the acoustics portfolio
  6. Overseeing junior consultants and providing guidance where required
  7. Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
  8. Representing the company in meetings and at events

Qualifications & Skills:

  1. A degree in Acoustics, Environmental Science, or a related field
  2. Relevant professional experience in environmental acoustics, including project management and client interaction
  3. Strong technical expertise in conducting acoustic surveys and preparing reports
  4. Experience with noise mapping, noise impact assessments, and sound insulation testing
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver projects successfully
  7. A proactive approach to business development
  8. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9613, BS 4142)
  9. Membership or working towards membership with the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) is desirable
