Job description

Accuflex currently has an opportunity for a Paralegal to work for our client, a global asset manager in London on a contract basis.

A basic knowledge of ISDA is required for this role and experience in drafting and negotiating ISDA agreements is advantageous. The successful candidate will be working through a database system to upload documents, check for accuracy and, depending on capability, also assist with legal work that may be required, i.e., IMA redactions, preparing execution copies, assisting with documentation reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the legal team; keeping track of the work done.
  • Assisting with locating documentation in the internal documentation storage system for other teams.
  • Monitoring the derivatives teams in box and responding to queries.
  • Preparing sign-off sheets and arranging for documents to be signed.
  • Reviewing (if required) OTC derivatives documentation (ISDA, VM CSA, Accession and Amendment Agreements) for key terms.
  • Liaising clearly and openly with line manager and with all departments/areas using derivatives.

Experience

  • University law degree or equivalent or experienced paralegal.
  • Strong team player.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good drafting and written communication skills.
  • Able to develop and demonstrate strong working relationships with other members of the firm, including (but not limited to) fund managers, client directors, compliance, operations, credit/risk, and product control; and with counterparty lawyers, credit, operational and front office staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
