Accounts Technician

Location: Newry

Salary: £20,000-£30,000 Part time - Permanent

Signatus are recruiting on behalf of a multi-office solicitor firm with headquarters based in Newry for an Accounts Technician. This role would be ideal for someone with a background in either legal accounting, bookkeeping, credit control or general account management. Full legal accounts training can be provided as long as the base skillset and knowledge of accounts is there. We do not require an IATI or similar qualification; however, it would be useful.

This is a busy general practice environment and the Accounts Technician would be required to be on site for 3 days per week.

Your general and specific duties would include:
  1. Recording and paying: Processing and paying invoices, recording payments and receipts, and managing company expenses.
  2. Financial reporting: Preparing financial statements, forecasts, and statutory accounts.
  3. Tax returns: Completing and submitting tax returns, VAT returns, and National Insurance contributions.
  4. Budgeting: Assisting with budget planning and control, and ensuring pension regulatory compliance.
  5. Record keeping: Maintaining, checking, and analysing financial records, and updating computer accounting systems.
  6. Liaising: Liaising with managerial staff and colleagues.
