Accounts Manager / Portfolio Manager

Accounts Manager / Portfolio Manager, £45,000 to £50,000 (full-time and part-time considered) Hybrid working.

Due to their continued success, a dynamic accounting practice based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne seeks an ambitious ACA or ACCA Qualified Accountant with a proven track record of working within practice for a key role within the business.

As an Accounts Manager, you will support a growing client portfolio of small and medium-sized companies. Reporting directly to the senior management team, you will lead and develop a highly motivated group of professionals. This role offers lots of autonomy and the opportunity to liaise with and advise clients.

This is a superb career opening for an ACA or ACCA professional seeking a long-term career move within a highly respected practice and the main duties of this varied and challenging role will include:

1. Preparation and reviewing statutory accounts for a range of SME clients
2. Review management accounts and provide insightful commentary to clients
3. Lead, support and develop a talented and highly motivated team
4. Plan staffing and resources to deliver a high-quality service to clients
5. Managing WIP to ensure all projects are conducted promptly and within agreed budgets
6. Review VAT Returns
7. Provide expert advice to clients
8. Develop client relationships and identify future business opportunities

About You:

1. Applications are welcomed from ACA Qualified or ACCA Qualified Accountants seeking full-time or part-time opportunities (ideally from 28-30 hours per week).
2. You must have previous experience working for an accounts practice, possess strong technical skills and a good understanding of Xero is advantageous.
