Clark Wood, a specialist recruitment consultancy within the Public Practice Accountancy and Tax sectors, is seeking an Accounts & Audit Assistant Manager for a prestigious accountancy firm in Swansea. This role offers a clear pathway into management, making it an excellent opportunity for ambitious professionals.

Role Overview:

As an Accounts & Audit Assistant Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of clients, with your time split between audit assignments (60%) and accounts and advisory work (40%). You will play a key role in managing client relationships, ensuring the highest standards of service and compliance. This position is designed to provide a clear platform into management within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review of accounts and advice for more complex clients
  2. Provide support to your clients from an accounting perspective
  3. Work as part of the management team, to include department work planning, appraisals, and guiding more junior team members
  4. Planning and close out meetings whilst managing your audit teams throughout the audit cycle
  5. Assist with managing staff resourcing across audits throughout the year and liaise closely with Partners and fellow managers

Ideal Candidate:

Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent with significant experience in a similar role

Demonstrated expertise in accounts preparation, tax compliance, and audit assignments

Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team
