Make Agency is a dynamic digital agency based in the heart of London. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Account Assistant to join our team and support our finance function.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to manage financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and support the finance department. This role is essential to ensuring smooth financial operations, from processing invoices to reconciling accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing financial documents such as invoices, bills, and credit notes.
  • Allocating invoices to the correct projects and maintaining accurate records.
  • Preparing and sending client statements while liaising with Account Managers to resolve overdue payments.
  • Completing purchase orders and processing business expenses.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations and managing company ledgers.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and requesting missing invoices.
  • Entering financial information into relevant accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, ERP systems).
  • Preparing supplier payment runs for approval by the Finance Controller or Senior Leadership Team.
  • Managing day-to-day financial transactions and recording office expenditure.
  • Assisting in preparing budgets, financial records, and reports.
  • Posting daily receipts and reporting on debtors and creditors.
  • Ensuring financial compliance and assisting with audits where necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting procedures and financial reporting.
  • IT literacy, including proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and ERP systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • AAT qualification or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a similar bookkeeping or finance role within an agency or fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of VAT returns and financial compliance regulations.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting.
