Apprentice Accounts Assistant

Swarm Training is working with TimeLine Gifts to help search for a Level 2 Accounts Assistant Apprentice (AAT Level 2). This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse and exciting design and manufacturing company supplying products to the heritage, tourist and promotional industries.

The Ancestors Group was formed in 1992, the company has worked designing and manufacturing products on the premises over many years, with the help of their dedicated outworkers, for names such as Harrods, Hamleys, English Heritage, Historic Royal Palaces, Westminster Abbey, the British Museum, Fluid Branding and many other famous clients both large and small.
The business is located in an 11,000 sq. ft factory in Folkestone, Kent, where they now concentrate on research, design, development and manufacture of services and products for trade buyers. The Ancestors Group also casts in eco-friendly resin, with 20 different manufacturing processes spanning their factory, allowing for a huge variety of products.
Responsibilities and Duties
Full training will be given for the below:
- Carrying out a stock take of the highest-value products and amending the stock and any subcomponents in the account's software
- Processing invoices and maintaining invoice documentation
- Processing customer and supplier payments
- Leading to working on the full Sales, Purchase and Finance Ledgers
- Processing of bank reconciliations within agreed time scales
- Examining data to identify transactional issues such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices
- Processing and preparing financial statements
The following may be required but are not a pre-requisite for the job:
- Responding to queries from customers via email or telephone with high-quality customer service and promptly

Working WeekCore working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday. A 30-hour week can be available if needed by a candidate.
Qualities and Requirements- Ability to work as part of a team

- Uses own initiative and is self-motivated
- A good level of numeracy skills
- High level of attention to detail
- GCSE Grade B/6 or above in English and Math's
- Interest in Finance and Accounting
- Hardworking and eager to learn
Training InformationTraining will be with us - Swarm Training, a national provider of apprenticeships throughout the UK. The successful candidate will work towards the Level 2 Accounts or Finance Assistant qualification, this apprenticeship will take 12 - 18 months to complete with assessments. The Level 2 Accounts Apprenticeship comes with AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
The apprentice is required to complete a minimum of 6 hours per week during working hours, working towards achieving the qualification. A tutor will conduct training sessions once a month, where the apprentice will be allocated tasks to be completed during working hours.
Ongoing training will continue with the company and after the apprenticeship, should you stay on, you would be encouraged to work toward AAT and Chartered Accountant qualifications should you wish to - paid for by the company.
