Job description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their Finance team. You will support the accounting department by performing various administrative tasks. This will include processing and recording transactions, preparing reports, and assisting with audits. This is a fast-paced environment; you will need excellent communication skills and a high degree of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process financial transactions
  2. Assist in reconciliation of bank statements and other financial accounts
  3. Liaise with contractors, clients and other departments
  4. Assist in the processing of weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payrolls
  5. Maintain and update employee records including statutory payments
  6. Provide adhoc administrative support as required

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in an accounting role and environment
  2. Knowledge of payroll software and accounting systems
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software
  4. Excellent numerical and data entry skills
  5. Ability to work across multiple systems efficiently and accurately
  6. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  8. Ability to prioritise and take initiative to work to deadlines
  9. Able to think clearly using logic and reasoning

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  1. Experience in a payroll company or recruitment agency is desirable
  2. Experience with Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) payroll is desirable

Schedule: Monday to Friday: 8/9am - 17:30pm (flexible hours), 100% office based - this is not a hybrid job.
