Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic finance team for a company based in Harrow. An Assistant Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting, and supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software. Your new role

  1. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  2. Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
  3. Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  5. Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  6. Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  7. Prepare and submit VAT returns.
  8. Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors.
  9. Provide support for ad-hoc financial projects and analysis.
What you'll need to succeed
  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, beneficial but not essential.
  2. Part-qualified, studying or qualified by experience.
  3. Experience in an accounting role.
  4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
