Exciting Opportunity for an Accounts Assistant!

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are thrilled to support a local organisation in Crewe as they seek an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join their small finance team. This is a permanent role offering a competitive salary of 27,000, with a raise to 28,000 after probation.

Your Role:
As an Accounts Assistant, you'll play a vital role in maintaining financial records and ensuring smooth operations.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for:

• Purchase Ledger: Processing approximately 60–70 purchase invoices monthly with precision and efficiency.
• Sales Ledger: Raising invoices, issuing statements, creating credit notes, and adding sales invoices to the Sage 50 system.
• Credit Control: Chasing outstanding debt through telephone, email, and letter to ensure timely payments.
• Bank Reconciliations: Keeping records accurate and up to date.
• Petty Cash Processing: Managing and reconciling petty cash transactions.
• Sub–contractor Invoices: Matching and reconciling invoices against our internal systems.
• Ad–hoc Finance Admin: Supporting the team with various administrative tasks as needed.

What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you should possess:

• Previous experience in a Credit Control or Purchase Ledger role.
• Proficiency in Sage 50 and a strong understanding of accounting principles.
• A methodical and numerically–minded approach to tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team or independently when required.
