Accounts Assistant

JS Legal Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant on behalf of a highly regarded law firm based in Colchester.

The successful candidate will have already gained accounts experience ideally within a law firm, although this is not essential as full training will be given. This is an ideal position for an Accounts Assistant who is looking to develop their knowledge in Accounts.

Duties will include:

• Recording cheques and managing banking processes
• Administration and reconciliation of petty cash
• Preparing and distributing cheques
• Processing and setting up of BACS payments
• Posting financial transactions
• Administering the supplier system, including invoice entry and payments
• Assisting with completion statements, entering bills, managing completion monies
• Supporting the Accounts Manager during holidays and absences
• Speaking with clients taking payments
• Handling petty cash

The Candidate:

• As an Accounts Assistant you will have recent Accounts Assistant experience
• Knowledge of SRA accounting rules desirable but not essential
• Thrive in a team environment
• Be proactive, detail-oriented and confident in managing financial operations
