Job Title: Accountant
Location: Perth
Salary: £40,000 per year
Employment Type: Full-time, Office-based

About Us:
Search is working in partnership with a well-established firm located in the heart of Perthshire. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join their growing finance team, playing an essential role in managing and overseeing our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
  2. Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
  3. Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions.
  4. Conduct regular bank and account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial records.
  5. Prepare and file VAT returns, payroll tax, and corporate tax reports in accordance with current legislation.
  6. Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes, providing required documentation and explanations.
  7. Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to support company growth.
  8. Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in financial processes and implement streamlined operations.

Qualifications & Skills:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is a plus.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  4. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  5. Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  6. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
