Job description

The health communications team at Four is looking for an experienced, proactive and ambitious account manager with pharmaceutical client experience, to join their expanding health team working across communications.

As an independent agency we offer the opportunity for free thinking, communications and medical education planning, driving and pitching new ideas to clients, and really delving into communications to drive behaviour change in health.

Four is a full service agency offering the successful candidate the additional benefit of collaborative working with creative and PR teams across multiple sectors to grow knowledge and experience across the full marketing and communications spectrum.

The role will involve media relations/PR, disease awareness, data communications, patient advocacy programmes, influencer engagement, research and medical education across a variety of audiences including healthcare professionals, policy makers, patient charities and patients themselves. Our key client sectors are a mix of Global, European and UK-based organisations and span ‘big pharma’, small biotech companies, med tech, patient charities and the NHS itself.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who has clear thinking and scientific analysis, great with words, a passion for engaging with a range of audiences, bags of initiative, good interpersonal skills and a ‘will do’ attitude. The ideal applicant will have a science or journalism qualification and/or a passion for health and science communication.

About you…

  1. Ideally the candidate will have around three years’ experience in healthcare comms, ideally including agency experience, with a track record of working within the highly regulated area of pharmaceuticals / biotech / medical devices in the UK and EU.
  2. You are able to assist in the development and implementation of strategic communications programmes for clients.
  3. Working with the Account Lead or Account Director, you can effectively and efficiently manage client programmes.
  4. You understand the client’s environment, can identify what is important to them and prioritise accordingly.
  5. Experience of handling data comms for clients at key milestone moments for the client’s brands.
  6. Knowledge of the relevant codes of practice surrounding medicines in the UK / EU.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to express ideas clearly.
  8. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  9. Creativity and ability to generate ideas.
  10. Good organisational skills.
  11. Very good attention to detail.
  12. Passionate about communication and ambition to develop new skills.
  13. Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  14. A working knowledge of social media channels.
