Job Title: Account Manager (Full Time or Part Time)

Department: Client Services

Pay Band: Up to £32k per annum DOE (OTE 40k)

Reports To: Client Services Director

Subordinate Staff: N/A

Location: Stockton-on-Tees (On-site or Hybrid)

Purpose of Post

Are you a champion of commercial relationships, and someone who can spot a sales opportunity from a mile away? We're looking for a proactive Account Manager to join our Client Services team, where we support over 500 businesses across the UK.

Reporting to the Client Services Director, the Account Manager is responsible for delivering best-in-class service to build, maintain and nurture relationships with existing clients. This will involve serving as the ‘go to’ contact to manage client accounts, while actively identifying and pursuing new opportunities to maximise revenue growth and retention.

In order to do well in this role, you will need to have proven experience in managing client relationships and an understanding of the energy sector would be advantageous. You should also possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and be comfortable liaising with client accounts & suppliers to deliver seamless service delivery.

Responsibilities

  1. Build and maintain strong day-to-day client relationships by serving as the primary point of contact to develop long-term partnerships that ensure client satisfaction & business growth.
  2. Hold regular account management meetings and calls with clients, managing inputs and outputs as required to ensure deliverables agreed are managed through to implementation.
  3. Lead and own all post sales activities for your assigned clients, ensuring all clients are successfully onboarded and nurtured throughout the duration of their contract.
  4. Maintain an up-to-date CRM system by accurately tracking customer interactions, tickets, and meeting notes to support seamless account management and service delivery.
  5. Prepare, produce and present energy performance reports, utilising role to interpret and explain client performance and make recommendations to add value and demonstrate ROI.
  6. Understand client challenges and objectives to develop tailored solutions that effectively drive upselling and cross-selling opportunities to enhance revenue growth.
  7. Liaise with suppliers to resolve client queries (e.g. billing, metering, or debt issues), proactively contacting clients to provide timely updates and status reports.
  8. Support the Commercial Director in the development of new company initiatives and campaigns, effectively delivering and communicating these to client accounts.
  9. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities and market developments, sharing appropriate information with clients and colleagues on a regular basis.

Skills & Experience

  1. 1+ years’ experience in a similar role
  2. Confident communicator (strong verbal and written English language skills)
  3. Strong numerical and IT skills (proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Excel)
  4. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  5. Highly organised with strong attention to detail
