Job description

Account Manager / Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager required to join a leading global distributor of mechanical engineering products.


The Account Manager / Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager will work remotely, mainly covering Hampshire and Dorset selling various MRO products such as bearings, power transmission, pumps, seals, lubricants, fasteners, industrial gearboxes or similar MRO products.


The Account Manager / Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager will ideally have experience selling or managing key accounts for mechanical or industrial engineering products. Full product training provided.

Account Manager / Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager Role


  1. Managing a number of key accounts via distribution channels and OEM customers within the mechanical engineering industry.
  2. Selling into industries such as marine, food & bev, oil & gas, power generation, water and more.
  3. Manage and grow existing relationships as well as business development selling bearings, power transmission, pumps, seals, lubricants, fasteners, industrial gearboxes and or similar mechanical engineering products.
  4. Maintaining new MRO sales with demonstration, exhibition and negotiation in order to achieve targets.
  5. Working closely with the Internal Sales Department to ensure an excellent standard of after-sales service is provided.
  6. Liaise with various engineering departments.
  7. Work remotely covering Hampshire and Dorset.

Account Manager / Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager Requirements


  1. Experience as a Key Account Manager, Account Manager, Area Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Engineer or similar within mechanical engineering.
  2. Must have experience of face to face meetings and booking appointments to see customers on a weekly basis.
  3. Will ideally have experience selling mechanical or engineering products. Full product training provided.
  4. Determination, enthusiasm, and motivation to succeed, grow, and bring on new business within Industrial Engineering / Mechanical Engineering markets.
  5. Full clean driving license.
  6. Willingness to operate remotely with travel to customer sites predominantly in Hampshire and Dorset.
