This broker’s specialist Independent & Private Schools Division has a dedicated team of circa 40 highly-knowledgeable employees (across Sales, Account Management, Claims and Account Handling) regarded as some of the most gifted insurance professionals within this niche. As part of one of the largest global brokers, this division benefits from the infrastructure and market presence that comes with being part of a much larger concern.

Whether you are currently working in the Education insurance niche or an SME, Middle-Market or Corporate Account Executive in ‘general commercial’, this is a superb opportunity to forge a career with a respected team in this fascinating sector. Being based 100% from home (with the option to check into a local office) and periodic meetings in the division’s head office, you will need to be located in or around Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire or surrounding counties, inheriting a substantial portfolio of accounts.

Your clients will include prestigious private and independent schools in the region, whose alumni include well-known names from business, sport, politics and royalty. Most client visits will be face-to-face, although online meetings can also take place depending on client preference. This division has a specialist team of Business Development Executives, so your role will focus on managing existing accounts and collaborating with colleagues to develop new business and explore opportunities to cross-sell ancillary services (such as Risk Management). You will develop a detailed understanding of your clients’ operations and their exposures to risk, which may represent complex risks compared to many state schools. With assistance from colleagues, you will work with Underwriters from a select panel of insurers to design a robust insurance programme that comprehensively mitigates risks at a competitive premium.

It is essential that you have previously worked in an Account Executive position and have an understanding of various commercial covers including Property and Liability / Commercial Combined insurance. Dealing with sophisticated insurance buyers, such as the schools’ Bursars, you must be a confident, articulate and polished communicator, able to secure buy-in from people from all walks of life. You must also be well-organised with excellent task-management skills, and capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
