Job description

Account Director London, UK (Hybrid Working)

A benchmarked salary between £49,680 to £56,160 based on your level within our progression framework.

Who we are
Born Social is a global social media agency that brings social-first thinking to the brands of tomorrow.

For the last 10 years, we’ve helped brands navigate and harness the chaos of social bringing method to the madness. From household names like Guinness, Primark and Ford to the next generation of big brands like Nando's, Peloton and Fever-Tree.

As a proud B Corp we care about People, Planet and Profit in equal measure. Working hard to attract, retain and develop the best social-first talent in our industry and creating a business and culture for them to thrive in.

We’re looking for an Account Director who's a French native to lead the local market social strategy and client relationship for Ford in France.

You'll work with our French clients (in local language) to deliver our social strategy in their market, leading a small team of freelancers on the ground in Paris to build community, ideate & create content all of which is rooted in French market knowledge and insights. All whilst collaborating with the wider Ford Europe account team to identify opportunities and communicate the value of Born Social's work to your local market clients.

What you'll be doing:

  • Account leadership: Ensuring output for your market is in line with the overall social strategy and working with teams to execute against that strategy. Setting up teams effectively to support your pursuit of a higher standard of work. Inspiring your account teams to produce Born Social’s best work in all areas of delivery.
  • Relationship development: As the main point of contact for your clients you will be responsible for fostering collaborative, trusting and constructive relationships that allow you to effectively identify and communicate the value of Born Social's work to Ford.
  • Project management: Organising key calls, meetings (team & independent) and Quarterly Reviews. Recognising and resolving delivery or client issues or lack of results. Working alongside wider team members to review ways of working to ensure delivery feels positive for both clients and teams.
  • Overseeing delivery: You'll work with a group of local market freelancers in Paris, France to deliver social-first work that meets our strategy - supporting with briefing, quality control & overseeing delivery.
  • Local market visits: To build strong relationships and deliver our best work, we'll organise regular (likely monthly) visits to Paris to spend time with your clients and our freelance network.
  • Commercial management: Ensuring accurate delivery of scope of work (deliverables and time) using time tracking, ensuring deliverables are of high quality and all deadlines are met. Recognising and resolving any scope or resourcing issues and leading on new resourcing requests as well as reporting on commercial performance monthly.

Who we're looking for:

  • You're a London-based French native (who speaks fluent English too!)
  • You have 4+ years of experience in a Client Services role in an agency setting.
  • You're passionate about improving client experience and love the relationship development needed to do this.
  • You're looking to own and drive the quality of the output on an account and have a good understanding of social first delivery (strategy, creative, media and management).
  • You have a good understanding of the principles of good project management and Client Services and have helped to develop this in others.
  • You've got a proven track record of retaining, developing and growing accounts.

Our values:

  • See Challenge as Opportunity: is about our attitude and to be very clear, this is not a value of optimism, nor is it about loving every challenge.
  • Say It Simply: is how we communicate. Think of the basic rules of communication - honest, clear, confident.
  • Do What You Say: is the crux of our reputation and longevity. When you join Born Social, our trust is fully given. It is yours to lose.
  • Make Each Other Better: is about our culture of collaboration and commitment to development. We are only as good as the people around us so we all take responsibility for developing each other, as well as ourselves.
  • Consciously Contribute: is bigger than all the others. It ensures we grow right. It broadens our focus beyond Born Social and cements our commitment to doing what’s just, not what’s easy or immediately self-serving.

Company Benefits:

  • Flexibility: Hybrid working, core hours, and an allowance to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks each year.
  • Holiday: 25 days holiday allowance per year plus a 3-day company switch off between Christmas & New Year.
  • Wellbeing: A choice of £30 monthly wellbeing budget or Health Insurance, access to Spill (virtual mental health support), a trained team of Mental Health First Aiders, an annual Recharge Day and a Bike2Work scheme.
  • Learning & Development: Membership to the IPA, a Campus platform packed with internal & external learning and a department training budget for L&D and regular team sessions.
  • Contribute: Give one day to the world each year through our volunteering scheme and make your own impact on social or environmental sustainability.
  • Incentives: Monthly team-voted prizes to celebrate individuals who Make Born Better and an Annual Profit Share Scheme so as the business grows, you'll be able to take a share of that growth home each financial year.
  • The Usual Suspects: From pension scheme to enhanced parental leave to life assurance.
  • Clubs: Book Club, Film Club, Run Club, Cycling Club, Tag Rugby Club there's something for everyone.
  • Consciously Contribute: Impact our sustainability goals by joining one of our Consciously Contribute Committees.
  • Born Socials: We like hanging out together and love us some organised (and not so organised) fun.
