Job description

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

Are you interested in leading a team of staff supporting Ukrainian refugees and their hosts living in Sheffield?

We have an exciting vacancy for a Team Manager in our Ukraine Resettlement Team.

You will lead a team of staff to provide an accommodation and support service to help Ukrainian families to rebuild their lives and fully integrate into our Sheffield communities.

This will include supporting community integration, a rematching service, providing housing and move on support to prevent homelessness, and signposting to other services as required. You will oversee the assessment of potential sponsors for the Homes for Ukraine scheme and ensure the accommodation offered meets the needs of their guests.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive individual who is customer-focused and committed to delivering an excellent and effective service. Whether you are an experienced manager or looking for your first management role, we would like to hear from you; you will be part of an experienced and supportive management team.

If you are a great communicator, can build strong relationships with a wide range of people to get things done, and are committed to continually improving and customer-focused service delivery, then this is a great job opportunity for you.

We are investing in our workforce and are promoting opportunities to our under-represented groups. We value equality, diversity, and inclusion and are focused on increasing the diversity of our workforce, particularly the number of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Disabled, and LGBTQ+ people, so that our teams reflect the communities in the city we serve. We are also supporting staff with unpaid caring responsibilities to work flexibly.

Under the Disability Confident Scheme, disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria of this job are guaranteed an interview.

All successful candidates will be required to complete a Standard DBS check.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part-time, or as a job share.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.

Equality of pay is extremely important to us. All roles at Sheffield City Council are going through an evaluation process which may result in changes to some pay arrangements from 2026. Find out more on our Sheff news page.
