Working Hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share, or full-time basis.

Location: Ideally, you will be within a commutable distance of Fareham, but we can be flexible for the right experience.

The opportunity:

As an Accident & Travel Claims Handler you’ll provide a quality focused claims service that supports the achievement of our in-house and Third Party claims teams. Dealing with a range of situations, from lost luggage to life changing illness and injury, our customers will look to you to work quickly and with empathy to provide them support at an often-stressful time.

Our Claims function is the largest department in our UK General Insurance business, and it’s critical in ensuring we provide our customers with an efficient, professional, and empathetic service.

Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

What will you be doing?

  1. Promptly handle and positively resolve all enquiries from both customer and external contacts to ensure delivery of a focused claims service.
  2. Review, resolve, and proactively finalise claims within authority limits ensuring settlement at an optimum level with consideration to business implications.
  3. Maximise productivity and profitability within the team.
  4. Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, we would like you to have some of the following:

  1. Retail Travel and/or Business Travel and Personal Accident claims experience is desirable.
  2. Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  3. Identify insights and trends on claims handling decisions.
  4. Ability to work as a team player and cope with varying workloads and pressures.
  5. Numeracy, literacy and IT skills with knowledge of MS Office packages.
  6. Relevant experience of working either in general insurance or progressing towards CII qualification.
