The Role - Academic Support Mentor

• Classroom / academic support role
• Secondary year groups

This Academic Support Mentor position is ideal for candidates with relatable backgrounds and experience, such as youth work, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, and previous TA/LSA experience. You must be confident in supporting vulnerable SEN students with social and emotional mental health, ADHD, and/or other special education needs or mental health areas.

You must be able to commit to a full-time role and be confident in supporting students with a mixture of behavior and emotional challenges. You will receive training throughout the academic year as part of this great team at the PRU.

This PRU is located in the borough of Lewisham, South East London. The PRU is an inclusive and high-performing setting supporting secondary year groups with their learning journeys by providing creative, vocational courses and academic-specific support.

The school is located near excellent transport links such as a DLR and overground station, as well as great bus routes. The students that attend this PRU have been permanently or temporarily excluded from mainstream education as they need extra support and positive guidance. They are seeking positive, resilient, and academic support professionals to work with their students on a long-term basis.
