Library, Learning and Student Services is seeking a highly motivated academic librarian. The post is responsible for supporting education, social sciences and psychology programmes. You will undertake collection development, faculty liaison, and integrated information and digital literacy teaching, including delivering a high volume of tutorials and workshops.
The offer includes 25 days holiday per annum plus 5 days after five years continuous service, additional closed days, bank holidays and a local government pension.

The Academic Librarian post is based at the University’s Waterside Campus. Working on site is required according to business and student needs, but there is scope for some remote working. This can be discussed with the recruiting manager.
About you
You will demonstrate experience in building relationships with academic and professional services colleagues, the ability to develop and deliver high quality teaching and training within a busy teaching team, and a commitment to delivering student-focused services.
You will have a qualification in Library and Information Science or an equivalent level of skill and knowledge working in the library or information sector relevant to the job description. You will have experience designing and delivering information and digital literacy skills training and using technology to support teaching and learning activities. You will show excellent skills in written and oral communication, an eye for detail and have a self-motivated and organised approach to work.

Library, Learning and Student Services (LLSS) consists of the University Library and the areas of Learning Technology, Learning and Teaching Enhancement, and Student Services. The University Library provides adaptable and IT rich learning environments, with access to print and online resources, alongside expert support in finding information. Learning and Teaching Enhancement provides flexible opportunities for students to develop a broad range of academic skills, while Learning Technology manage NILE, the University's virtual learning environment, and support the use of technology in learning and teaching. Amongst the areas within Student Services are disability support, counselling and mental health and financial guidance.
