Experienced Academic Administrator For Our Northumbria University London Campus

London based, Maternity Contract, Hybrid working (on campus and working from home)

Do you have strong administration experience ideally within the education sector? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

About our role: As Academic Support Specialist, you will proactively deliver effective and efficient academic administrative support mainly through our student CRM system. You will work alongside a small team and take part in various academic processes and tasks to ensure our student journey is enjoyable.

Good IT, Word and Excel skills a MUST.

The role is initially a maternity contract for a 12-month period based in London where you will be expected to come into the office up to three times per week.

Here’s a flavour of what’s involved: (training provided)

  1. Provide guidance and advice to academic staff on the application of Northumbria University’s procedures.
  2. Support for progression and awards boards including preparation prior to the board and communicating student awards and progressions post board.
  3. Supporting academic misconduct meetings.
  4. Support for Student-Staff Programme Committee meetings and the facilitation of good practice in the programme.
  5. Assessment monitoring including invigilation, arranging exam paperwork and exam-packs.
  6. Liaising with London Programme Leaders to ensure Programme Handbooks are up to date at the start of the year and new intakes.
  7. Manage the Programme Support mailbox and resolve queries.
  8. To support the Visa Compliance Audit; ensuring all deadlines are met within a timely manner.
  9. To support, communicate and process Change of Circumstances requests.
  10. To support the student enrolment process.
  11. Work collaboratively with the Student Progress team, Ask4Help team and wider university support team to ensure students are supported through their studies.

Bring Your Experience
  1. Previous experience in administration.
  2. Experience in working with MS Excel.
  3. Demonstrable success in building good relationships with key internal and external parties.
  4. Experience of multi-tasking and delivery to agreed timescale.
  5. Experience of planning and organising the activities of self-and/or others.
  6. Demonstrable knowledge of the education sector.
