Job description

This is a brilliant opportunity to be actively involved in one of London's most interesting urban spaces, as the volunteer Treasurer for Abney Park Trust. Abney Park Trust is an independent volunteer-led charity that works to promote Abney’s history, ecology, and community engagement. The Treasurer is part of an active board of Trustees who lead the charity, setting its strategy and implementing the most effective ways to promote its charitable objectives.

Responsibilities
  1. Be a Trustee and part of the Trust’s Board providing leadership for the organisation.
  2. Oversee the financial affairs of the Trust and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice.
  3. Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial policies and procedures are in place.
  4. Monitor and report on the financial health of the Trust, including at bi-monthly Board meetings and at the annual AGM.
  5. Produce the necessary financial reports/returns and accounts. Prior annual accounts available on the website. Financial year runs 1st April to 31st March.
