About the Sociology Teacher Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sociology Teacher to join our successful Social Sciences department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach Sociology at Key Stage 5 (A-Level), inspiring students with engaging lessons and a love for this fascinating subject.

Responsibilities of the Sociology Teacher:

• Plan and deliver high-quality Sociology lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to explore sociological concepts and develop their critical thinking skills.
• Assess and monitor student progress in Sociology, providing constructive feedback and support.
• Contribute to the development of the Sociology curriculum and departmental resources.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of Sociology teaching.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in Sociology or a related field.
• Experience teaching Sociology at the secondary level.
• A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Sociology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for Sociology and a commitment to inspiring students.
