About the Role:

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a dedicated and innovative Psychology Lecturer to join our client's team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach on a range of courses and work closely with the Senior Curriculum Manager and colleagues to deliver exceptional educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

General Duties:

  • Support the College’s mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.

  • Adhere to safeguarding policies and practices.
  • Fulfil health and safety responsibilities as per the College’s Health and Safety policy.

Lecturing Duties:

  • Teach across a variety of courses at different sites.
  • Serve as a personal tutor/course coordinator for a designated group of students.
  • Participate in student-related processes including selection, interviewing, admissions, enrolment, induction, and tracking.
  • Develop the curriculum to meet national standards, community needs, and employment requirements.
  • Implement student-centred teaching and learning strategies to enhance retention, achievement, and progression.
  • Prepare and monitor syllabuses, schemes of work, and learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the design, delivery, and evaluation of courses.
  • Provide regular feedback and tutorial support to students.
  • Observe and enforce student monitoring, discipline, and complaints procedures.
  • Liaise with employers and agencies regarding student placements, course design, and career opportunities.
  • Attend relevant external courses and conferences.
  • Maintain comprehensive course records.
  • Contribute to the annual assessment and review process.
  • Manage qualifications and examination processes in coordination with the College Exams Officer and external bodies.

Specific Duties:

  • Teach A Level Psychology.
  • The ability to offer related subjects is advantageous.

Person Specification:

  • Degree with a Psychology component.
  • Experience in successful and innovative A Level Psychology teaching.
  • Ability to effectively teach a diverse range of students and prepare relevant materials.
  • Understanding of Social Science curriculum provision and adaptability to changes in course content and teaching methods.
  • Effective communication skills with both staff and students.
  • Enthusiasm and creativity to significantly contribute to the College’s objectives.
  • Awareness and responsiveness to the pastoral and academic needs of students from various backgrounds.
  • Experience in team collaboration and working effectively with colleagues.
  • Commitment to equal opportunities policies and practical implementation ideas.
  • Proven success as a tutor and the ability to build trusting, developmental relationships with tutees.
