We are recruiting for a Portfolio Underwriter to join our prestigious Personal Accident & Travel Team.
Based in our London office, you are respected for your ability to oversee multiple programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mind-set delivering within the deadlines set. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.
How you'll make an impact
- To provide an effective, timely and efficient day to day account management service for designated key UK Personal Accident and/or Travel delegated authorities and facilities in accordance with the companies values, objectives, procedures, and processes.
- Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships on designated programs to ensure they are well managed and that performance, growth and retention targets are achieved.
- Control own work-state to ensure effective servicing including but not limited to the reviewing and arranging the processing of premium and claims bordereaux, complaints/contract certainty reporting and sales/service information plus the adherence to granted authority terms.
- Assist in the review and testing of quote to buy platforms.
- Assist in the creation of new and renewal RFP/Tender responses.
- Assist in the project management and implementation of new and renewal arrangements to ensure governance requirements are met, including but not limited to due diligence review, legal and conduct review, issuance of authorities, contract agreements and policy wordings.
- Assist in the production of internal documentation for approval and review of arrangements.
- Assist in the recording, monitoring and reporting of remedial action as a result internal or external review in accordance with the timelines set and the run off associated with terminated arrangements.
- Fully understand the key features of our core products & services plus those of our key competitors to highlight the benefits of working with AIG.
- Network across AIG Insurance UK and involve others to produce optimum results.
- Continually identify and develop best practices and procedures plus look for new ways to improve the service and product offering.
- Take personal responsibility for career development and pro-actively keep up to date with regulatory, industry and business issues and changes.
- Be proactive, self-motivated, maintain a flexible approach and adapt rapidly to changing work environments.
- Exhibit sales orientated behaviours, defined by management as: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Ability to collaborate and engage different stakeholders required to drive mutually beneficial results whilst operating within the confines of internal and external controls.
- Existing experience in delegated authority & account management.
- Good understanding of UK regulatory environment and expectations.
- Highly numerate with ability to compile and analyse financial data.
- Strong commercial skills including the ability to handle multiple priorities, organise work and meet deadlines.
- Good understanding of the UK marketplace, preferably A&H.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral are required plus the skills to create presentations or briefing notes in order to communicate and present to Senior management and Exec level audiences.
